Well its been some months while I have been working on assignment but I have just done a profile page with registering set up. Need to link it to the add a link section on the website.

Set up the forms of registered and addalink to not only enter into the database the details but to email me telling me someone has signed up onto one of the. Stopping me needing to check the database to see if someone has done so.
Didn't manage to get it to take out the form values at same time so I can use them In the email as was the plan so I could give link to website and user name etc in email to check then and there. So at moment it just emails same email all time but will fix this tomorrow hopefully.
Validate ME

Today managed to add a load of more validations to the addalink and register(after the register stopped being a pain in the ass) It now checks username and passwords match each other. Also that the brunel user name goes letter letter number number letter letter letter. Which I am very pleased with.

After much much much too much time looking at the computer screen I got the colour changer to work for the website using cookies, It makes the page look in different folder (named after colours) for the logo and a style sheet. One extra stylesheet per theme which has 3 images in and few h1 h2 and a tags colours changed. After getting the images it only takes 2minutes to set up new folder/stylesheet and option in the drop down menu
Database ME

Ive set up my database tables (two at the moment one for registered people and one for the add a link) after getting sql managerment server. Had some problems getting the add your link form to work but with couple hours playing around with it i managed to get it working and going into a database with a page redirect comfirming you add.
Started to add validation to the enquiry and addalink, Such as checking value is added.
Also last thing I did today was to get the addalink records to display on the home page under a link of the users brunel user name linking to their website. But only after I have comfirmed it from the database setting it to display.
Enquiry about ME

Started to code the enquiry form so that it sends out a email with all the filled in form data which the user put into it. Using code I have done simplar things on other websites so this wasnt to much of a problem.
Got someone else to do the logo for the website and its much much nicer now though it is in blue and ive been given the idea to make the website user colour choice with asp.net and cookies so thats on the list of things to do.

After cuting up the website, Which i feel I have done really nice job, The site contains nav image, login left image which is a gradient. The logo at the top of the page which could do with some work. The faded background image and 4 images which help curve all the boxes, But all these come in at under 40kb total. the logo 16 and the login image 17 taking up 95%+.
Started to code the master page and putting together the website, Didnt really have any problems though the website is messed up in ie6. Not to a un useable degree but not great. Though with most people on ie7 and it working in FF i will sort it at later date
Managed to put together the content for the home about us page, as well as a few others like donate and contact us faq pages. The website is starting to really pick up content now.
ME Starting the website

Have a idea for a website which hosting all the brunel mulitmedia student portfolios by giving them a folder in which to host the files with upload via ftp access. Project idea not only to help other brunel students from my year and years to come but also as a extra portfolio thing for me to have in mine. As ideas of use of strong asp.net with c# validation on forms and use of databases, emailing with forms and also if possible login which I never done before
First design of the website is made, was going to go with a website without a navigation and just have all big links on the home page, which is sort of what i have done but also put nav at the top as getting back to homepage and off comfirm pages was a problem
